First this is a bigger suppose to be Java. He/She was born July 10, 2012. Does it look like a Java and is this one a male. Others will follow.[IMG]

OK this is Pecky. He is the one scalped by the incubator fan. His right wing tends to hang down don't know if it was because of accident. I say he only as a newbie. We thought he was going to be IB but think he might be Pied cause of more light areas and wing feathers. Would you say so now and is he/she male?[IMG]

Forgot to add he/she is getting a lot of green color in the neck area if you can see. I thought it would be more blue at this time. Pecky was born Aug. 7th, 2012. He is sitting on his tail. These babies do not like to leave their house. Poor things have ate the curtains off the windows to see out, but don't want to go out.

This is Pokey. Pokey had to be helped out of the egg it was touch and go for a while, but little shot of gator-aide with tiny eye dropper down side of his throat got him/her going. Please tell me this one is a fellow. He is Midnight BS from FBC. So is Pecky. Please disregard poop on his wings we had an accident from Java's they get so upset. Pokey had to flop right in it when we were taking picture. Please say this will be another peacock. [IMG]

Pokey is a Hen,,,,,,,,,,,,,,young male B/S starts to get black in the upper wing feathers showing easily at about 3 weeks. Remember both sexes of b/s as adults will have the rusty-tan-black flight feathers,,but only the male b/s will have solid black feathers as an adult on the first part of the wing that lays on top of the back. If you go look at the new pics Mmmaddie13 just posted of her 3 Opal B/S chicks look at her male,,even tho yours is a Midnight B/S and not Opal B/S,,if yours was indeed a male,it would easily have as much color as her b/s Opal has. There is a HUGE diffrence in the amount of pigment a young male B/S starts to get noticable early on.Sorry,,,,but you have a hen.

Thank you. I wanted male, but she'll be a nice addition as she will go nicely with my Mr. Gorgeous Midnight BS beauty. Just thinking about future I just love those Midnight BS peacocks, my favorite. Did you note the pictures of Pecky??? He is very unusual but each time I visit seems to be making big changes. Pokey and Pecky are at that stage now where they still have some down still with their more mature looking feathers. No so cute but working on pretty.

This chick looks pied to me with the pure white feathers on the wings and flights. I hope Frenchy steps in and agrees with me. It would then be a midnight B/S Pied unless the eggs got mismarked and you got something else [IMG]

IB boy does he ever hold his wing right? i know growing birds wings droop from the weight of the new feather growth, ducks and geese are the worst.

It almost looks like angle wing.
