If you followed my other thread you know I had 2 white bantam silkies 12 days old today. Unfortunately after all my efforts one has passed away leaving my healthy chick very lonely. My breeder said she will replace the chick with some hatchlings she has that are black silkies. My questions is,
Will the heat requirements for the new chick over heat or hurt my current chick from age difference of about 10 days?
I have a 250 watt bulb in my 69 to 71 degree home. I also ordered a heating pad 5o maybe replace the bulb.
What do you think?

As long as you have a warm and a cool end in your brooder it should be fine since both chicks should be mobile enough to move to a chosen comfort zone.
My condolences on your lost one.
I'm going to need a bigger brooder. I'm in a large Tupperware. I know extremely noob rookie move. Any suggestions for where I can get something bigger?

I think if they both grew up together they should be fine. I have heard that if there are no girls around than they have no reason to fight, and will get along fine, but I don't know if that is true.
