Can I make red sex links?

I have a rooster that I'm not sure about. He's red and has a very floppy comb, I was told he was an easter egger.

I'm interested in using him to make a red sex link cross, do you think it would work? I have a couple hens that would work for the cross but he is my only rooster, thanks so much!

I think you should be able to put him over silver based hens (not dominant white like leghorns) and get sex links. Remember, the sex linkage only refers to the color linked to gender, they won't necessarily be the extraordinary layers that hatchery sex links are, they'll only be as good of a layer as the parent stock.
