Can I mix my Indian Runers with my Hens and their Cock.

    I have two Indian Runner Drakes, five Ducks and I am considering integrating them into the adjoining Chicken coop where I have twenty one Hens and one Cock...any advice for an Irishman! Any wisdom welcome.

    I wouldn't personally advise mixing drakes with chickens if they don't have their own ducks to breed.

    Thanks for the advice Kevin.I have five female ducks and my cockerel is very passive.Both coops are side by side but the duck area is smaller than I would like.I was going to join the two to offer the ducks a bit more space.

    Oh goodness you can tell I was too tired when I replied. [​IMG]. I'm sorry for that.


    In that case I would give it a try. Most of the people down here have mixed the two and never had an issue. As long as the drakes stay away from your hens and there's not too much fighting among the flocks it should work out fine.
