Hey my daughters bantams have started laying there are 3 hens in the pen 2 barred rock bantam hens and 1 crele. The first eggs layed keept geting layad in the doorway of pen so I set them in a nest right in the doorway and she layed 9 eggs and never set I think this was the pullet they were peachy/tan eggs I took them and are incubating them. Now one of the Hens has started laying in the basket in the doorway white/pink eggs she has 2 so far I think this is one of the older hens dont know for sure tho. The other chickens and rooster are all over them at feeding time should I move the nest out of the door way or will she abandon it? Really want them to set.
    Thanks for your help

Well, sounds as if she is laying in a place that would be unacceptable for brooding. Move the basket and do your best to dissuade her from laying in the doorway. Loose wire, stones, wood, anything to make her think, "I don't want to lay here."
