Can I try to sex my chicks this early?

[IMG][IMG] The first picture shows my week old Golden Laced Wyandotte, Lacie with a tennis ball (for size comparison). The second is just a profile. I know it's early, but I'm worried. She's already showing a small, pale cream comb. She is gentle, occasionally pecks, but mostly just cuddles, and is very protective of the new baby in the brooder box. She has skinny orange legs and a fluffy tail. She came from Murdoch's and was vent sexed. What do you guys think?

Hi and welcome to BYC. I'd suggest waiting until they are 6 weeks old and the post pics on the "what breed or gender is this?" forum.

Agree with CTken - you can always try early but, the earlier guesses aren't as valid as one's given later on. 6-8 weeks is good. Is she a bantam chick of the breed?
