We put a dump truck load of oak chips in our run a few weeks ago. Since then we've had chicks die from breathing problems, and
now a hen that's making weird noises when she breathes. And I have asthma again! I haven't had breathing problems in 6 years. Suddenly- I'm in and out of the doctor. Could it be the mulch???

yes, sand is the best...If you use mulch, try regular pine shavings...

It's somewhat frightening how sick I and the chicks have become from the mulch. I thought I was doing a good thing for
them. We had sand/clay before - but they seemed bored. But I'll do anything to get off the prednisone they put me on. Even if I have to
hire someone to come in and remove it all.
