I believe I recently was exposed to Pertussis aka whooping cough and may have it, One of my chicks has suddenly became ill as well, she is a silkie around 1 month 2 weeks and 2 months and as a chicken mother im incredibly worried. She stood by the water container today and didn't move, i tried to feed her oatmeal (she usually goes crazy ) and she couldn't care less... We washed her butt to check that out and after we found nothing she began to wheeze or cough or something, im scared, we separated her from the rest she is currently on my lap and kinda shaking/shivering? Can chickens get whooping cough/Pertussis?

The bacteria that causes Pertussis in people, Bordatella pertussis, occurs only in humans. Other Bordatella bacteria occur in other animals, such as B. avium in chickens, and B. bronchiseptica (kennel cough) in dogs, but they are completely different bacteria.
