So I had a hen and a rooster today the rooster was killed by my dog
I was wondering if the hen could still be able to live alone. The Hen always followed the rooster when they were out roaming and catching crickets. So I was kinda concerned. PLEASE RESPOND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Your hen will need companions, no hen will like being alone.

The goal in good husbandry should not be mere survival - but rather to provide the care that will allow an animal in your care to thrive.

Your hen will be feeling insecure and lonely which will cause her to be in a permanent state of stress eventually resulting in her becoming poorly but no ?'s are frowned upon everyone is here to help you with all concerns you may have with your hen:)

    [IMG] Glad you joined us!

I'm sorry about the loss of your rooster. [IMG]It would be best if you could get your hen a friend (or even better, several friends) as soon as possible. Chickens are social flock animals and won't do well without companions.
