can my roo and hen mate even tho they brother n sister

    Hi just want to ask can my roo and his sister mate ? they too young yet but just wanted to know about inbreeding

    They can, but you'll get stronger chicks if you can do father-daughter or mother-son. Too much inbreeding makes for weak animals no matter what the species.

    From what I understand you can breed siblings together but the resulting offspring must be bred with unrelated chickens or you will start to see problems popping up. It is best to breed mother to son and father to daughter in these situations or simply get new blood in the flock.
