Can 6 month old pullets go into a molt before laying any eggs
Most go through a partial molt, about a month or so before they are ready to start laying. Mine usually just loose the tail feathers, but some molt bits all over.
Thanks for joining us. If you have pictures of your birds, they would be nice to see!
There combs and waddles are still tiny and a faded red color. Does that mean they still have some matureing to do??????????????????
Thank ya I'll try everything ya told me to try
so glad you have joined us.
Usually the first year they just go from baby fluff to feathers as a juvenile molt. Next year they'll have a real molt.
When the wattles and combs get really red, and they squat when you try to pet them....then egg laying will be near.
