Can raw fed dogs, rottweilers in particular, eat beaks? or feathers? Is it bad to give them whole birds that aren't dressed?

(We normally feed them dressed chicken from the grocery store or hamburger or any beef cut from the store.)

Yes, they can have any part, as long as it's raw. If you want your dogs to be safe with the birds, you may want to pluck them, just to make them a bit different from the live birds, but thats it.

My dogs - If you are squeamish, please read my post no further.

My dogs, they know when butchering day is upon us. They know they get the heads from every chicken processed. They walk with me to get the "victim" and walk back to the chopping block. Dogs sit about 10 to 15 feet way while I chop. The heads are like candy to them - they catch them on a toss - beaks, feathers and all.

Yes, my dogs basically live with the birds during the day. All are outside together - mastiff, border collie and anatolian shepherd and birds all running around together. NONE of the dogs would ever dream of catching and killing a chicken! But all will actively hunt rabbits, mice, moles, pack rats, squirrels, rats - etc.

They do eat raw, whole chickens - but I pluck the chicken body - more for my own piece of mind. Once I gave the anatolian a feathered carcass and everytime I passed the window - to see her munching on it - freaked me out (my brain saw feathers and figured A LIVE bird). So for meals the bodies are plucked.
