Looks to be a roo but knowing age would help confirm it? If it's under 12 weeks then definitely male.
9 weeks old. Thank you! If a roo, it explains a lot. Ugh!
Not bantam. I don't think? Lol! Sorry chicken newbie.
I had 2 bantam cochin boys try to murder each other at around a month old! Sometimes a day in isolation makes them repent but that didn't work for my boys. You could try grabbing him each time he tries to attack someone and hold him down, then give him a (gentle) tap on the head until he stops struggling (and he will) as an adult rooster would not put up with that sort of behaviour. Don't let him go until he has gone still and stopped struggling. He may even freeze in place for a moment before moving off. It took 10 minutes of me doing this with my bantams to stop the fighting and they would play after that but they never fought again.
JaeG, I have him in " jail" right now. "Cookie" (will need a new name) wasn't allowing the others to eat. Particularly my RIR. I guess I'll have to do some rearranging.
Thank you all for the help! Love this!
