Hello and Welcome To BYC! She looks like she might be some sort of red sex link, a cross bred to lay a lot of brown eggs, they are sold by various names depending on what hatchery they come from, Red Star, Golden Comet etc.
I think so too. Is she a really good layer for you?
Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. She's definitely a Red Sex Link, which are egg laying machines. You should get loads of eggs from her. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your RSL.
Glad you could join the flock! I have to agree definatly a red sex link or as they are called here in the UK a warren. I started out my chicken adventure with two of these girls and they were excellent egg layers and a lovely bird to keep.
Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat
Welcome to BYC!
Yep, a RSL and you'll be glad to have her. We have 3 in our mixed flock and they are the best laying girls, plus, they have such fun personalities.
Good luck to you with your chickens, nice to have you here!
Hello and Welcome to BYC!
Welcome...sorry I am not really good at breeds!!! You can head over here to find out https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this
Looks just like my Red Sex Links I bought from Meyer a year ago. Mine are friendly. They run to the gate whenever I come out, hoping I have a treat. They love pizza. Eggs? I am overrun. I get about a dozen a day. I hand them out to my friends when I am not saving them to incubate.
Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you joined us!
