You have to give folks on this board a little bit of time,

. Most of them are in the US and the day is barely starting there.

On your question: I would just try it. If they are unhappy and cold they will let you know. They'd be huddled together and peeping loudly. If they are running around contentedly, checking out the big outdoors, they are fine.

Sorry so does chirping mean unhappy??? Mine chirp alot I thought they were happy

There is a difference between a happy chirp and a distress peep. You will know the difference when you hear it. If they have not been excessively huddling together all the time, I would think the chirps are happy chirps. Distress peeps do not sound content.

Ok they still always hundle together when sleepinv with no chirps does this mean they are cold ??

No, it is normal for them to huddle when they sleep.

My chicks are 3 weeks old and I took them outside today for the first time. I am new to raising chickens. It was in the 70s F today and I only kept them out for about 30-45 minutes. They were nervous at first, but enjoyed themselves once they figured it out. They are now back in the brooder in my garage, sleeping like babies with no light and no heat lamp...first time for that, too. The girls are growing up so fast. Let your chicks explore the outdoors. They will definitely let you know if they are upset. Good luck!

My chicks outside at 3 weeks in Feb 2014 temp was 45F-55F at that time
But at 45F they go back to the shed as there is no drafts .....

So when do u put them outside full time ? Mine are getting big now and taking over my living room !!
