Can we pass onto viruses to the chickens?

My son has a virus - running a temp, head ache, etc. He is dying to go down and see his babies but worried if he can get them sick? I know I've read a post on this but can't find it. Should I keep him away from them?

Well I didn't get any replies so I decided to let him at least go down there and see them but just not pick any up - - I think it did my son good just to get out of the house. Hopefully, no chicks will get sick.

I don't believe so. Usually, illnesses are host specific. So like Pig Cocci Protoza doesn't effect chickens and visa versa. However like the Avirian Flu scare, it can over time become something that can effect humans but it takes the virus changing over time. So to make a confusing post simple. I believe they'll be fine.

thanks, I am going to just not let him hold and love on them till his temp has been gone 24 hours. His favorite is a tiny batam that he just loves and I would be so sad if something happened to him and he got sick.
