Can you help me identify sex

    I have 2 birds I need help sexing An austrolorp and a Silkie. Please look at both birds let me know. Any help is appreciated thank you in advance for taking the time to study the sex and breed and post :) a silkie and something else please help identify thank you in davance

    Indeed, silkies are notoriously hard to sex and sometimes take up to a year to figure it out. Your little one could still go both ways.
    Do you know how old the other black is? It looks young, I which case I'd say that's a lot of red in the comb, raising cockerel flags. And I'm confused..do you think it's an Australorp or do you want to find out what it is. Although it does look Australorp-y, it has feathered legs. I'd guess more towards black Cochin or langshan, or mixed.

    The silkie looks more boyish to me from how the crest is growing in, but really it's too young to say for definite just yet. The other one is a cockerel.
