can you incourage your chicks

    Not really. =) I wish that were possible but it isn't. Attempts to hatch them out before they're ready will only maim or kill them.

    What day are they on?

    there on day 21 and haven't piped or chirped yet

    Unless you have some reason to think it's all gone wrong, I would just be patient and do nothing. It's always a bit tense but you can do more harm than good at this stage. Leave them alone and let them do their thing.

    If things are going wrong there's probably not much you can do anyway.

    When were they last candled?

    this is the second time ive incubated on my first try i got 0-5 and im desperate to get at least i chick. they were moving but now theve stopped.please help. im so frustrated [​IMG]

    I am by no means an expert but from what I understand

    a, you are on Day 21 - by no means beyond hope. It could be a while yet depending on your bator temp.

    b. there is a fair amount of rest involved in the process for the chicks. Mine were still and silent most of the time on my last hatch with bursts of activity in between.

    c. Intervention only tends to work in certain circumstances. If you go wading in to eggs that haven't even pipped you are only likely to get dead chicks

    Personally, I wouldn't rush into any action you might regret. I would still counsel patience but they are your eggs.

    Just wait. What my momma hens do is CLUCK CLUCK CLUCK (ever so softly) then they go PURRRRRRR Cluck cluck cluck. [​IMG]
