Can you tell if it is a roodter at 4 weeks? PICTURE

    I have a chick that is 4 weeks old and I think it looks like a rooster, can you tell if it is a rooster by its tail sticking straight up?? Here is a pisture of the chick

    The tail doesn't have much to do with it at that age. It doesn't look particularly like a boy to me right now.

    Good deal, we baught it as a girl because were really not allowed to have farm animals in the township unless there is 50' away from either property line and our property is only 100' wide, and I don't think the neighbors would like a crowing rooster

    Like speckledhen said. You can't tell from the tail. You need to be looking at the comb, wattles, and legs instead. From what I see there, I would say pullet (hen)! [​IMG]
