Can anybody tell me what she is? Can you tell me about how old she is?

We bought her at a livestock auction. We are new to chickens! Can you tell about how old she is?

But doesn't a Australorp have a single comb? Its hard to tell but that doesn't look like a single comb to me.

I agree. My best guess is that she's a mix. Sorry, can't tell you how old she is. At least it's a she! Are you getting eggs?

Not that we know of. She is roaming free in the yard. We had her in the coop but the other hens and the rooster was beating up on her. They actually drew blood. We have looked in places where she lays and have not found any eggs. She roosts up in a tree by the house that is very tall. She gets probably 8 or 9 feet up in the tree.
