Can you trick hens to start laying??????

I've read about some people putting fake eggs or golf balls in nesting boxes to get their hens to start laying Does this really work?

It sure does! If your hens are close to 16-20 weeks, they should start laying soon. Good Luck finding your very first egg!

They lay when their bodies are ready to lay, and nothing can change nature. The golf ball thing simply tels them where to lay the egg, and it works well for most folks. It seems when they see an "egg" in a nest they know that is a safe place to lay and will add theirs to the pile.

Thanks miss chessy!! I just went out and put some Easter eggs in the coop. They were very interested in them. Maybe they'll leave me a surprise!!
