Can you use newspaper in a cage?

Can you use newspaper for 1 month old seramas in the bottom of their coop?

I don't think newspaper is ever good. I think pine shavings would be best. I think the only reason people use paper towels over pine shavings is to get the chicks to eat the right food instead of eating the shavings for the first couple days.

Yes you can use it. When I got my first chicks that was all I used. Had to change it everyday though. Now I use newspaper with pine shavings on top. Only have to change it every few days like that.
