15 of the 20 eggs I set on Dec 17th are growing! Pretty good considering they were shipped eggs, last time I had less than 50% that were viable. I checked them with my hubby, sitting in the dark last night on the couch while we candled them. Very romantic, hahaha... and I'm so excited! you could see their little body outlines and blood veins feeding them. I'll candle again before lock down. and hope everyone makes it.
I also set some homegrown eggs in my other incubator to fill the space of some undelivered eggs, they were a few days younger and I probably should have given them another couple days, but it appeared ALL of them were viable... two of the 18 Americauna shipped eggs in that batch seemed a little undeveloped than the others, but I left them in as I did candle early and they weren't completely without growth. I think they will do well, loved the feed back from Jean on my order, and they sent extra eggs... I'll definitely be reordering. They have been the only place I've ordered from who supplied the NPIP paperwork without me having to ask.
I have been using the styrofoam incubators... but my Hubby ordered me a cabinet incubator from www.customincubators.com it hasn't arrived yet as he a last minute shopper... Anyone with feedback on how they work would be greatly appreciated.
