Her breath was ragged.
The stones were jagged.
She had to keep the candles lit
Unless the world no longer were fit.
A long time ago, in a universe far far away, there was Ayilar, the world of balance. The inhabitants were diverse, but the sentient beings who had dominion over it were fae. They called themselves the dancers. Their were many types of them, but they all had the same goal-to preserve the balance, between light and dark, fire and water, living and dead. This precious balance was guarded by an ancient candle, which had been burning since the beginning of time. It had two wicks, one which burned with light, and one which burned with shadows. It has never failed its sacred mission.
Not yet.
But lately, there have been imbalances.
Skirmishes.
No one is an enemy.
But why then is this happening?
Why are friendships souring, alliances breaking?
No one knows.
Except the evil force lurking under the island, of course, in the vast labyrinth of caves.
But nobody knows about her.
Will you help defeat the evil?
The World
Ayilar is a beautiful, tropical world, diverse with all sorts of creatures. And when I say all sorts, I mean all sorts. Dragons, unicorns, rhinos, penguins, you name it!
The Fae
Light: Light fae are often regarded as shallow by the other fae. They generally like shiny things, are very optimistic, and are easily taken in by a pretty front. However, they are deeply loyal and courageous. They are mostly pretty fair skinned, with golden hair/clothing and shimmering designs on their body. Their powers include production and magnification of light(e.g. lazor strong) and flight with their wings.
Dark: Dark fae are the opposite of light fae. They generally are pretty pessimistic, hate sparkles, and are more suspicious of pretty people. Don't let them scare you away, though. Inside, they're big sweethearts, and they will never stop fighting for what they believe in. They are generally dark skinned, and don't have wings. They can have black-dark blue designs on their bodies. Their powers include being able to cast temporary darkness and being able to transport between shadows.
Fire: Fire fae are-well-fiery. They have very quick tempers and use their fists very quickly. However, they'll forget what they were mad about very soon. They are often red haired/green eyed with smoldering, coal like designs. Their powers include making/throwing fireballs in their hands, and being able to shield themselves and others from fires.
Water: Mostly cool headed, but if you anger them, they stay angry for a loooong time. Their bodily attributes vary from normal brown to crazy blue hair. Their designs are like the ripply light at the bottom of a water source.
Life: Generally very hearty and sweet. They generally look very white, almost albino. They can help heal things, and as long as the heart is still beating, can bring them back to life. Not after death, though.
Death: They are pale and dark haired, and wear black. They are the most withdrawn and introverted of the lot. They are the only ones who all have a specific weapon: an enchanted bow which will never miss. They also have a single arrow which will deliver instant death. They only have one. They can also help a dying person die peacefully
Earth: Earth fae are the products of a union between two different types of fae. The have a combination of their parents powers, and generally two additional ones:Being able to "see" what a plant has "seen", and, when they are touching another type of fae, they can use their magic to imitate that of whom they're touching.
Each of the groups of fae have a leader. An earth is the overall leader. PM me if you want to be any of the leaders.
They only have one thing that might be considered a city. It is a huge, crystally cave in the center of the forest where they meet.
