When candling do you want to maintain the egg in its upright position (same as it is when setting in the turner) or does it matter?

Yes, you gently lift the egg from the turner, lean it towards the light and place back in the turner...all of this without turning, rocking, etc the egg. The light should shine through the big end so you can see the air cell easily and the contents inside the eggs (hopefully a growing chicklet).

I DIDN"T KNOW NOT TO INVERT THE EGGS! I have chicks moving around inside (I can't tell you how exciting this is) did I harm them?
