Canker swelling still present after 5 days Metronidizole

Hello again!

Today is day 5 of giving marilyn her 250mg metronidizole pills to cure a bad case of canker. She is very much improved and her appetite has returned but the side of her face is still swollen and the cheesy looking scab has not completely gone away. What should i do now? Should continue metro for 2 more days? Ive also been putting iodine on the affected area several times a day.

Im also curious how long i should wait to reintroduce her to the flock after all her symptoms are gone?
 
I have not treated canker before, so others with experience may want to offer help. In the pigeon medicines, they say metronidazole can be used 7 days. You may want to try to remove the yellow plaques. Birds who have had canker are carriers for life. You can try preventative treatments of medication or a product called acidified copper sulfate in the water once a month. The acidified copper sulfate dosage is 1/4 tsp per gallon of water for 3 days each month as a preventative. Below are links for other pigeon canker medicines and anothe link for for copper sulfate:
