Her name is Fluffy, she is three years old
3 years ago 40 out of 44 of our chickens got killed by something. She got bit in the leg and is now crippled, so she is a home body.

For the past few nights she has been sitting around in one of the ground nest boxes, during the day too. So you would think she is broody, right? But she doesnt growl, she isnt puffed out, she just sits there. It might be because 3 weeks ago we moved some newer chicks in the coop and she is hiding, but that wouldnt make sense since this behavior has just started.

I dont think she is laying either just btw

what do you think, is she broody?

Sounds as if she is broody to me. Not all broodies 'scream' or 'growl'. Put an egg in front of her - if she pulls it beneath her, most likely she is wanting to become maternal.
