So this morning I had to assist my first little Peachick out of his egg (day 35). He pipped Tuesday night and since then there was no progress. It went super smoothly - yay.

Seven hours later he still couldn’t walk. Would stand up and then face plant. So here are a few pictures of his crooked toes, and his new orthopedic booties :) Fingers cross they work.
Edit: Props to my hubby for making the booties!

Since you are trying to correct the toes and you've started so soon after hatch, you have a good chance of success. :fl :thumbsup
Good luck!

I have been very lucky with my three peachicks; so far.

Thanks - I hope so. I never even knew this was a thing until a few hours ago.

I see a lot of posts about chicks, poults, peachicks and ducklings having foot/toe and leg problems when hatched in an incubator. I do not think anyone knows why for sure. Some leg problems occur when the incubator has a slippery floor and the chick can't stand up. From the looks of your peachick I do not think a slippery floor caused this.

Possibly genetic or positioned wrong in the egg during development.
