I have heard that cats can keep snakes away-by hunting them and their litter. Is this true? I live in california so the largest snake we have is a king snake. Any ideas? Thanks!

My cats didn't eat my corn snakes when they when missing for over a month, they could care less, my cat as a kid used to catch them, I guess it depends on the cat! My childhood cat also could catch wild rabbts and rats even though he had no claws!

Our cats have caught several snakes, but they (the snakes) were small, about 6-8 inches long. The cats leave them by the door, snakes are the only critters they don't eat. Yuck! I can't say that I would either.
