I'm looking to do a cement floor on in a new loft. We are in a very dry desert so ground water in not an issue. Is there any other reason not to do cement?

    Pro - easy to clean
Con - droppings take longer to dry out, leaving a longer window for bacteria to harbor in them

You may want to use some shavings or some type of bedding to help absorb the moisture [IMG]

Becky Thing dry here so fast I don't see that as an issue but thaks for the thought. Lots of pine shaving and saw dust are always in the shop.. I was think of useing clean beach sand in avery. [IMG]

Beach sand works great, like a litter box [IMG]
