Hello Backyard Chickens! I live on the coast of Monterey, California. I had always wanted chickens and after researching my local bylaws, I put my COVID-19 stimulus to work and created an amazing backyard for my chickens! I started with three girls: blossom (Rhode island red), bubbles (buff Orpington), and buttercup (barred rock). I have since hatched three hens and four roosters. We kept two of the hens: negrita (barred rock x buff Orpington) and sunny (buff Orpington). Since we cannot keep roosters in our city limits, two were rehomed and recently I sent my mom a beautiful baby roo and hen. Poor blossom recently just laid down and passed away. We currently have a beautiful baby rooster, Artoo the Roo (R2D2), who needs a home. And that's what brings me here! I expect in the long run this will be an additional tool for all my chicken needs and plans. Thank you for being here!
