Hi all! We're brand new to chicken life! We have a small flock of six pretty gals who keep us entertained and provide us with tasty eggs.

We're hoping to expand our brood by four this summer, and we're excited to connect here and learn along with you all!

Thanks! I do have a question that I posted in the forum on emergencies/diseases/injuries or cures.

A few of my girls have some missing feathers and red skin. I'm not sure what's up and what to do about it. Here's a link to post with pictures.

What breeds of chickens do you have? I'm sorry to hear that one of them is having skin problems. My guess would be that they are pecking each other.

We have 2 barred rocks, 2 rhode island reds and 2 golden comets. The reds are the ones the issues, the others seem fine. Though I'm pretty sure one of the barred rocks is the top hen, if it is pecking I don't expect to see any feather loss on her. She leads the crew around all day
