Changing Run Wire to 1/2"

I've read through a number of threads including a couple that reference older threads, and have gotten a lot of info. I still have a few questions though. I already have a coop and run, and the run was built with wire walls too large to be predator proof. I have "galvanized for durability" (that's all the label says about the galvanized nature) 1/2" HC of 19 gauge. I wanted to replace the old wire walls, but on most of the run that will be impossible since I would have to tear the building apart to do so. I guess I would have to just wrap the walls over the existing wire with the new stuff and make my apron. Also, I looked for steeples but couldn't find 1 1/4", so I got some 3/4" of 14 gauge. Is the gauge of the 1/2" HC too thin? Are the size and gauge of the steeples too weak? I've included a pic of the steeples (which are actually labeled "fence staples") to be sure I've got the right type of product, at least. If you click on the image, you'll see the product description. (No bears, but raccoons, bobcats, snakes, coyotes, hawks. In 5 or 6 yrs, nothing has gotten in- or tried to push in- except snakes and mice, but last year I saw raccoon prints right outside the run one night. But I'm just trying to be prepared for anything.)

It's a piece of work... It's the larger tractor coop. It's stationary; it was originally set down & then bordered with between 7-9" of concrete all around, as was the small coop. (The small one was made with 1/2" hc.) They're set & sealed right up against each other in a T shape, which will make the part under that awning/above the shingled roof tricky. Also, these pics were taken in various times/seasons. I've currently got deep litter going in both.

IMPORTANT DETAIL: As you can see, there's no longer any grass for several feet around the coops in that chicken yard. HOWEVER, we've just embarked upon an expansion project - widening the tractor coop/run about 8 ft to the side. THEN, that area will run into some grass for the apron to go onto. (Prairie grass, & sparse in some spots, but still, grass.)
I'm thinking I'll have to put some boulders down right on and out from the apron in the other areas?
Also, on the smaller coop, again, because there's no grass and there's so much erosion, I'll haul in a lot of dirt & maybe place boulders up against it for good measure.

I found that I couldn't hammer the fence staples without bending them so I went with screws and fender washer on the Outdoor Brooder conversion. I wrapped the hardware cloth right on top of the chicken wire.

DH bought a heavy-duty fence stapler to run off the air compressor for the new coop.
Wow, I Love your conversion! And the chicks...
