Chcickens first eggs are being laid in dirt/on ground?

Any tips to get thier booties in the nesting boxes? DH thinks they boxes may be too small???

Do you have fake eggs or golfballs in the nest boxes?

If they are just beginning to lay, they may just be new to it all and hadn't decided it's better to lay in the box.

How big are you boxes, roughly?
