I hatched out a few chicks a few weeks ago. They are 6 weeks and two days old today. I also hatched a second batch with 3 that are younger, those three are not included in todays game.

First is Lily (Lucas). He is a boy, sadly.
Second is Dandy. She is a girl. @TheOddOneOut @Overo Mare @FluffyLambs @Granny Hatchet
Third is Poppy. Another girl.
Fourth is Marigold. Another girl?

Each have 2 photos. They are being raised by a broody, so taking pictures was a risk...

I have also conducted a few experiments with them. Tail length/wing length and tail growth/ wing growth does NOT work for sexing. I am also not yet sure if pin feather sexing works for mixes, I have to look back at my guesses.

I look at tail and say girl then I see legs and say boy then I look at body and say girl then I look at comb and say boy then face and say girl! She's so confusing! (Marigold)

Marigold is a guess for me. Maybe a roo. I think you are spot on with the rest of them.

Thanks! Glad we ended up with 1, max 2 cockerels. Debating on what to do with the males...going to start rehoming soon, and if all else fails...

Well...thats the plan, my dad does the dirty work. I "may" help the cleaning process once the bird is dead. But Lucas was my favorite for a while, until I found out he was a male...

fingers crossed! I really want to see Marigold as a female. Most of those crosses I see turn out to be males...I would love to see what the cross looks as a female. Still learning genetics, so I am not exactly sure why the lacing is silver, not gold.
