Chica escaped from her pasture yesterday morning. I found her wandering about two acres away in the pasture with Jack and Diane. Not good. I hurried back to wake Michael to help herd her back to safety. He put on shorts, flip flops and an old ratty ski parka. Apparently that is a turn-on to Chica. Good grief.

Lol.. now you know what I had to go through with Rose a few months ago!.. All I had to do was walk into her pasture and she would walk in front of me and plop down.. had to get my husband to help me move her if I wanted her to go somewhere else (she wouldn't plop down for him)!.. but even just walking past her she would maneuver herself in front of me and do it.. [IMG] At least Michael is the right sex for Chica! (still wrong species.. but Chica at least got one of the qualifications right) [IMG]

Now Rose is in lust with Dorian.. so I'm no longer her 'favorite"..

Rose has laid a total of 3 eggs so far. I gathered the first two the other day when I found her nest. She laid another sometime last night.

I had to replace the first two with blown out emu eggs. Tried using nerf footballs, but they weren't fooled!.... Dorian picked them up and tossed them out of the nest even though I tried to disguise the smell. Lol, the blown emu egg shells are acceptable though!
Emus aren't dumb (at least not these guys)! ..... [IMG]
