Chick Ack....

Is it normal for chicks to do like the photo below? I don't even know how to explain it... like a gag motion? A few of them open their beaks and almost like a cat with a furball "ack" but they make no noise? Does this make sense?

This is too funny! But seriously, I know what you mean. Yes, I think it's them adjusting their crops..at least that's what I've always thought it was. My hens do it too but when they do it they give a little neck dance, if that makes since. The "Ack" with a little neck dance. Um, yeah, sounds funny I know but I think it's a necessity for them. They are giving their crop a little adjustment. Hope this helps. Sorry I laughed but I loved your little ACK picture! Too cute
