Chick born with defect on face.

One of my hens have been sitting on four eggs and now they have hatched. The first one has hatched with something wrong with his face. Please someone give me advice on what happened and what steps to take now. I’m away from my home on vacation and my care taker just informed me on this matter and sent me a picture. I️ feel helpless but any advice would be helpful. Thank you

Its not a defect, the humidity was low and the side of its face got stuck to the eggshell

I think it would be best to tell the caregiver to remove this chick before the others start to peck it to death.

It was under a broody hen but you think the humidity under her was too low? How can you control that?

I would think it has a big chance of getting an infection which wold not be good.
Is caregiver able to watch it closely?
Keep it warm in a clean brooder?

Some Nutri-Drench would be a great idea.

I honestly don't know, it kind of depends on the weather i guess. I had it happen to a gosling in the incubator, but it was also hatched with a deformity so i never had to treat it...

The Hen pecked its face..Nothing to do with humidity at all..Hmm?..Culling it is an option too. Sorry that happened.
