I have noticed that my chicks all have a tiny bump on the inside of each leg. I only have four chicks, so I was wondering if all chicks have these or could it be they are boys?

Some chicks do and some don't. Doesn't mean rooster.

Ok, thanks. Just wondered. It'd be handy if it did! Does it depend on breed then, or something?

Quote:I got 2 orpingtons and a barred rock a few weeks ago. I seen these bumps on the back of the legs also. Never noticed that when I got my first 3 chicks last
year or noticed that on my 2 australorps I got early this year. I read that they are spur buds. But like the others said, it does not mean it is a boy.
