OK so I just got 8 new baby chicks from mypetchicken.com my last order arrived all dead. I was so angry and upset. They were even smelly so I'm thinking they passed on the first day they shipped them. I went off on the cust svc lady but I digress. So my new order is here I have 4 austra whites 3 snowy Easter Eggers and 1 silver spangled hamburg. One of my austra whites is bullying my hamburg. She keeps biting her wings and pulling it really hard to the point where she drags my hamburg bc she's the tiniest one about the size of a ping pong ball and the others are a little bigger than a golf ball. Mypetchicken.com told me to put some petroleum jelly on hamburgs wings bc they don't like the texture of it and will stop. So far so good but she mentioned adding things to keep them entertained bc she said chicks are like toddlers. Kind of confused as to what to add to the brooder tho I have dried meal worms for them to scratch and forage. I usually put sticks in there for them to roost as the grow a bit bc right now they are the fall on ur face and sleep anywhere stage. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do for them as far as entertainment goes and has anyone else ever dealt with day old bullies and how to stop that behavior now? At first I gave the bully a little shoo with my hand and she rolled over I didn't mean to knock her over. I've raised approx 30 now and never had this issue.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I had a bully baby chick. I read to add shiny things. I added them on the opposite side of the heat lamp. We also added a mirror which they seemed really interested in. Even fell asleep looking at themselves, or whoever they thought was on the other side, haha. We put a block of wood that they loved jumping on. It really helped to break the bad habits of our bully. She is 4 months old and in the middle of the pecking order and pretty sweet now.
