Dude, my chicks each shake their butts, and then shart and I laugh every time.

When I first got my Silkies they had some pretty gaseous poos. I think it all came from the stress of being shipped and the new food. But today, one of my EE roos had a farty poo...[IMG] and he is 6 wks old.

Yes, both chickens AND chicks experience flatulence.

And it's nowhere near as bad as either one of my miniature dachshunds!

[IMG] Love this post because I was wondering the same thing today! [IMG]

My Silkie sharted and while I thought it was hilarious, I wasn't sure if it was ok. Apparently it's fine! [IMG]

I too have had experiences with gaseous chickens. I adopted a silkie hen whom I named Walter (after the children's book series, Walter the Farting Dog) because of her...ah...proficiency for playing the butt tuba.
