When do you start chicks on grit?

When you start feeding treats, usually not until a week or two.

They don't need grit for chick starter or, when they are older, regular feed. However, anything else (greens, oatmeal, fruit, bugs, etc.) they need the grit since they don't have teeth. If they freerange they will pick it up naturally, but the chicks likley aren't doing this.
