Chick Grit - how much is too much?

Should I be monitoring the amount of chick grit my week-olds are eating? I gave them some last night...I expected a peck or two but it looked like each one ate about a beak full. Should I be limiting their access to it or will they naturally only consume what they need?

I've never limited how much they eat, just put a little in the brooder (free choice) they will take what they need.

I just sprinkle a bit on their food every other day, just like salting your dinner lol. I’ve never had any problems.
