Chick Grit?

So a few days ago we got 2 week old chicks (7 of them) and have fed them starter feed/chick feed (always with them and availible) and have also given them some hay and some lettuce and they ate it. We did not give them grit.

Are they ok?
Is there grit in their food?

We are going to give them grit soon but needed to make sure they are ok. I think they are because that was a few days ago but need to make sure.

why not go ahead and put the grit in there? I put it in after just a few days. They do need the grit if you're going to feed them the treats, not so much for the feed itself, although it certainly won't hurt them to have it
