Saw this morning that 2 of my chicks had been badly pecked in the behind. It was very raw and bloody. I separated them and the blood has dried off and a scab has begun to form. My question is, now what? Now I have these two separated, and I don't know what to do. Should I wait another day or two for a good scab to form, paint it with pine tar and re-introduce them back into the other chicks? The problem was over crowding, but that has now ben resolved with me selling some chicks this morning. I am also planning on moving another 4 that are a few weeks older outside into the laying flock.

I'd love any words of advice! Thanks!

I would keep the chick separate until the wounds have healed. I've found that they will still go after in even with Blue Kote. You might want to place another chick with it; it will be much calmer.
