56CA28F8-5BB1-4D1C-B660-1E44ED6D8C79.jpeg I’m the happy mother hen to 20 fluffbottoms who will be 4 weeks old in a couple of days. I purchased the Ornamental Layer baby chick assortment from Murray McMurray and have been trying to identify several of the breeds. So far I have identified for certain:
1 buff laced Polish
1 gold laced Polish
4 silver laced Polish (two frizzles I think)
1 speckled sussex
1-2 Ameraucana/EE/OE (fluffy fat cheeks developing)
2 red stars for sure, possibly 4

2 black Langshans or black cochins (?) shoulder feathers have a lovely green shimmer in direct sunlight, heavily feathered hocks, legs and feet
2 blue cochin looking chicks (started out true white down with gray) that are feathering out pure white, much smaller than the feather footed black ones.

The rest are a bit of a mystery, all somewhat chipmunk-y (cream legbar/welsummer/wyandotte?) so any ideas are welcome.....because, well, it’s so much fun to guess!!!
