Should I put blu-kote on my orange feathered chick? Would iodine or something that stains more of the color of the feathers be better - since the blue would definitely stand out more?

I have a hen in the backyard with five chicks (3weeks old). Today one of the chicks stuck his head through the fence and a dog pulled out some of his neck feathers And left some pink-looking bare spots. I didn’t see any blood but I will attempt to catch her, spray with bactrum, and put some antibiotic, or either Vaseline, on it just in case. Any advice welcome.

i’m going to catch/treat her soon if anybody has any suggestions.....Bumping this up just in case

I would not use iodine on such a young chick nor would I use Vaseline on a dog related injury.

Cleaning it well with some disinfectant and then spraying with blue kote or other antibiotic spray or applying triple antibiotic ointment should suffice.
