CHICK IS BREATHING HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sock is a Blue copper maran. She had a slipped tendon and curled toes that is now fixed and she can walk again. She started breathing hard today. She is a LOT smaller then her brothers and sisters they are all the same age. Why is she breathing hard!?!?!?!

I'm not sure the tempature of the brooder. If she is too hot she can go to the other side of the brooder. I have a red heat lamp that covers halve of the brooder.

Get a cheap thermometer at your feed store and put it on the floor under the light. Make sure the bedding is clean and dry, and keep feed up at shoulder height of the smallest chick to prevent spills and mold. Make sure ventilation is good with no odors. She may have some problem with breathing or heart.

She is halve the size of her brothers and sisters. They all hatched the same day. I will check the temp.

The side where the heat lamp don't touch is about 70F the side where it does touch is 85F. They don't seem cold or hot.
