Quote:17 Silkie eggs shipped from SC by Dipsy Doodle Doo...Thanks Lisa. [IMG]
    1 never developed
    4 stopped very early on
1 pipped and never hatched [IMG]
1 zipped and died soon after...lots of blood. [IMG]
1 is still in the bator, hasn't pipped, but I candled it today and looks to be moving or maybe it's in my head, either way I'm giving a few more days. [IMG]
8 of these guys are running around like crazy, eating drinking, sleeping. So much fun. The 9th one has a twisted leg and I hope he can build some muscles and learn to walk. Unfortunately it doesn't look good.
This was my first time hatching eggs with an incubator and it was fun, exciting and nerve racking all at once! I will defiantly try again. [IMG]

  8. Way to go, Angie! Great job incubating!

What does the problem look like on the little one with the twisted leg?
Maybe someone knows how to fix it. I can fix spraddle leg and crooked toes, but I don't know about a twisted leg [IMG]

    Thanks for the pics [IMG]

Lisa, I ended up making a hobble out of a band-aid for the little you would with spraddle legs, and he seems to be getting around really well. Actually, so well that I have trouble distinguishing between him the other blue chicks. He's no longer crying out and is eating and drinking on his own. So happy it's working. I felt so bad for the little guy and was going to have my DH send him to chicken heaven, but I am glad I decided to hold off and try a treatment. [IMG]
Hatching out chicks has been a great experience!!
