chick play house????:)

hi last night I was thinking about the baby chicks i a soon going to be getting and I thought "What if I took 3 cardboard boxes,one big,and 2 small some paper towel tubes,( that are big enough for
chicks to fit through)and a knife that can cut through cardboard and make a chick playhouse!!!"and now i am wondering if that is ok???!because I don't want the chicks to get hurt or anything!.

I do not think that is a good idea. Chicks do not need this 'toy' to stay active or keep happy like a hamster in a cage. I find it could be dangerous. Simple putting an object that is safe in for them to peck at or when they are ready for treats they can just run around playing keep away. Or you can get a box of soil they may like to scratch in it and find little things in it to eat.

I wouldn't give them the tubes (they might get stuck), but I'd sure give 'em a couple boxes. They like to get up on top of things. Just make sure that it's not too far down to start and that there's a soft landing for them XD

i've been thinking about this too, somewhere on here i read the chicks love the paper towel tubes. I guess a happy chick is a healthy chick!
